Donald P. DiCarlo
Chief Client Strategist, Head of Wealth Planning and Trust Services
As chief client strategist and a member of Wilmington Trust’s senior leadership team, Don provides executive oversight of the firm’s fiduciary and wealth planning capabilities while working directly with clients and relationship teams on significant and complex wealth matters.
A respected thought leader, Don was named a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC) in 2019*, which is a highly selective group of peer-elected trust and estate attorneys in the U.S. and abroad. He has been an adjunct professor of law for over 20 years and lectures frequently at industry conferences, including the Heckerling Institute of Estate Planning.
Prior to joining Wilmington Trust in 2008, his professional experience included a senior leadership role at a global investment management firm, the private practice of law, and active-duty service as Judge Advocate in the United States Army. He earned his undergraduate degree from Villanova University and his law degree from New England Law, Boston. He holds a master of laws (LL.M.) degree in taxation from Temple University Beasley School of Law and a master of arts degree in moral theology from St. Charles Borromeo Seminary. Don also maintains his credentials as a Certified Life and Executive Coach.
Don actively serves his community in a variety of ministries as an ordained deacon in the Catholic Archdiocese of Philadelphia.
