As part of the Wilmington Trust Emerald Family Office & Advisory® team, Ryan is responsible for providing strategic and holistic wealth planning advice to high-net worth individuals, successful entrepreneurs, executives, and their families by reviewing and illustrating their current plans, highlighting potential deficiencies, and modeling effective tax and estate planning strategies.

Prior to joining Wilmington Trust, Ryan was a director and wealth planner at Cresset Capital where he focused on advising business owners prior to and following the sale of their businesses and helped them work toward achieving their wealth planning goals. Ryan began his career in wealth management as a wealth planner at Abbot Downing, the ultra-high-net-worth division of Wells Fargo Wealth and Investment Management. At Abbot Downing, Ryan prepared estimated estate tax analyses, reviewed trust and estate planning, and advised on financial planning for clients of multigenerational wealth. Before transitioning into wealth management, Ryan was a tax attorney at a boutique law firm in Atlanta specializing in trusts, estates, and closely held businesses. 

Ryan holds an LL.M. in taxation from the University of Florida’s Levin College of Law where he was a member of the Florida Tax Review. He holds a JD from Tulane University Law School and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Oklahoma where he was an honors college graduate. He is a member of the Georgia and Atlanta bar associations and admitted to all Georgia state courts and the federal District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.
